Resulting from Research and Development on Carbon-Wheels a new Resin-Infiltration-Technology has been descovered for manufactoring Carbon-Composites in general. This RCI-Process is very effective because it reduces time and costs for infiltration and for molds. It combines the advantages of classical Autoclave Technique (simple moulds) and of RTM-Process (short time). Simple Geometries of Fiber-Preforms can be cured directly after infiltrating the Resin. Alternatively the wet preforms can be used as Prepregs and can be cured in wellknown Autoclave-Process.
