Levers, Traverses
or Pull-/ Pushrods.
These structural parts are mainely stressed in one direction.
Not
every Part built in classical metall Construction can be replaced
1:1 by a
Carbonpart
with
comparable Geometrie !
Carbonfiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) is an anisotropic material,
that means the strength- and stiffness properties depend on the
fiber orientation inside the part. The weight reduction compared
to metallic parts can only be optimized, if the fiber orientation
is correlating with the direction of main stresses. For example
a plate spring made of glassfiber
can perform a weight reduction up to
70 % compared to one in classical steel construction.
The
application of this new manufacturing technology is independant
of the line of business. In aerospace,
automotive, mechanical engineering as well as in medical
and sports, weight reduction
by carbon parts makes sence.
